Navy Opportunity Forum, June 2-4, Hyatt, Crystal City

The Navy Opportunity Forum highlights technologies being developed under Navy SBIR Phase II contracts. TRI/Austin will present our work on a new VPI resin for use in the DDG-1000 electric main propulsion. The VPI resin is less susceptible to embrittlement, enabling less maintenance and longer-life motors, and exhibits acoustic and vibration damping to reduce the ship’s acoustic signature. Applications include current motor systems, pumps, large-scale electrical machinery, and DDG-1000 electric main propulsion.
